Tilicho Lake, in Nepal, is now the world’s highest lake. Located in the Manang district of Nepal, Tilicho Lake is situated at an altitude of 4,919 meters in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas. Tilicho Lake is the destination of many travelers from around the world. Lake Tilicho is a freshwater glacial lake. In the lake surface, you can see ice floating. These ice come from avalanches on the glacier covering the western slope of the mountain.

According to the holy book, sage Kak Bhusundi is the person to detail the happenings of Ramayana to the Garuda. Garuda is known as the king of birds. The events was narrated near this lake. The sage transduced himself to the crow while elaborating the story to Garuda. Tilicho lake is one of the major sites of trekking in Nepal.

Therefore, the best time of year to attempt the Annapurna Circuit trek and to visit Tilicho Lake is in autumn, between September and November, and in mid spring.
