Indian citizen shot dead by Nepali police in Nepal-India border

Janakpurdham. One person has been shot dead in a clash between Nepali security personnel and Indian nationals in the Nepal-India border area at Narayanpur in Sarlahi district on Friday. Two persons have been injured.

The government has deployed armed police in the Nepal-India border area to implement the lockdown. A team of nine people has been deployed at the forward base of the Armed Police Force in Narayanpur of Parsa Municipality of Sarlahi.

The same clash took place on Friday morning. At around 9 in the morning, three Indian nationals had entered Nepal. According to Narayan Babu Thapa, AIGP of the Armed Police Force, a man slapped him when he was stopped by the Armed Police Force. In some areas large numbers of people came and pelted stones.

Armed police fired five rounds. One person was killed and three others were injured in the incident. Three members of the Armed Police Force have also been seriously injured in the clash. According to Sarlahi Armed Police Superintendent Gangaram Shrestha, they are undergoing treatment in the district.
